1.1 Give a detailed discussion of the central and peripheral routes to persuasion
The central route to persuasion consists of thoughtful consideration of the content and ideas of the message. When the recipient is processing the information, they are being active participants in the persuasion process. There are two prerequisites in central processing, and they include the motivation and the ability to think about the message and its topic of concern. On the other hand, the peripheral route to persuasion happens comes when the receiver decides to agree with the idea following its cues. Such an instance occurs when the message originates from an expert or when it seems attractive. The peripheral route also occurs when a message contains many persuasive arguments.
