Explain lynman series
The Lyman series is a hydrogen spectral series of transitions and resulting ultraviolet emission lines of the hydrogen atom as an electron goes from n ≥ 2 to n = 1 (where n is the principal quantum number), the lowest energy level of the electron.
The Lyman series describes electromagnetic energy given off by energized atoms in the ultraviolet region.
Lyman α emissions are weakly absorbed by the major components of the atmosphere (CO2, O2, and N2) but they are absorbed readily by NO and have sufficient energy to ionize this relatively unstable compound.
